A good and successful example of networking is Stephen Spielberg, known for his movies:  Jaws, your favorite: ET and Saving Private Ryan to name a few.

Steven-Spielberg by Martin Wippel

He landed an unpaid internship with Universal studios just by walking in and having his enthusiasm for the field impress one of the workers, which gave him a pass to come and watch him at work.

He hung around every department he could, he asked questions, introduced himself to actors, producers, and directors. – He networked his way to where he is now. He didn’t ask anyone for a job, he showed them what he was capable of, and he knew what he wanted

So Stephen ended up in a place with people that not only understood his passion, they appreciated it. That’s not to say that he didn’t get kicked off sets, or given impossible tasks – He just never gave up!

So! My message to you is: Don’t give up! Don’t let your fear of rejection stop you from getting what you want, and even if you don’t know what you want, yet, get involved with what interests you, what keeps you going! Network with people of similar interests and passions!
